TOOLS FOR TEACHERS
ABOUT
This website is a multimedia project to instruct teachers in OS X applications, or helpful tools that are on Apple devices. I will be sharing basic applications and tricks that I have found useful during my time as a student teacher.
As our society grows more and more digital, our students’ educations will evolve to reflect these technological changes. My goal is to familiarize teachers with their Macbook devices, improving their confidence, organization, and productivity as educators of tomorrow.
RATIONALE
My name is Dominique Yi and I am a pre-service teacher. During my time in student teaching, I recognized the need for professional development in the areas of technology and digital tools. Although our schools are filled with highly qualified and experienced teachers, I learned that many of these educators had limited knowledge of the technology they were working with.
In the district I was in, all teachers were provided with a Macbook Air computer for their teaching purposes, yet were unaware of the many functions and capabilities of their device. Therefore, I decided to create this website to bridge this technology gap. As educators of children living in a digital age, it is important for teachers to comfortably and effectively implement technology into their classrooms. A pre-requisite of this ideal picture is for teachers to first be experts of their own devices.

To be effective in today's technology and media saturated environment, citizens and workers must be able to create, evaluate, and effectively utilize information, media, and technology.
